To date, I've had three books published:
The Sadness of The King George (Bad Press Ink, 2021)
This is my first novel, based on the many years I spent working in pubs around the West Midlands. It's set in Sutton Coldfield, where I spent most of my formative years. It will be published in paperback and kindle formats in February 2021. You can pre-order it here.
The New Brutalism (with Tom Hicks, Kates Hill Press, 2020)
The New Brutalism is my first poetry collection. It was made in collaboration with the brilliant Black Country-based photo artist Tom Hicks (who can be found on Instagram as blackcountrytype and brumtype). The collection was published by Dudley-based press Kates Hill in late 2020 (it was finished in 2019 but long-delayed by the pandemic). You can order it from here.
Pop Art Poems: The Music of The Jam (self-published, 2016)
My first book was a song-by-song exploration of my favourite band, The Jam. I self-funded publication with my credit card, ordering 1000 copies (which were stored in our spare room). It went on sale in August 2016 and had paid for itself within three months. The Jam's A&R man, Dennis Munday, reckoned it to be one of the best books ever written on the band (as do many others). It was sold at the official Jam exhibition in Liverpool but mainly online. The final copy sold in August 2020, and I've since seen used copies being sold on eBay for up to £50.
